ABOUT ME

Read below to learn more about my background. You can also view my resume or learn more about this site.

My name is Jason McDonald and I have been tutoring individuals since I was in high school (1988-1992). I have since graduated from college, worked as an engineer, and most important to you, worked as a teacher and tutor for the last 10 years. My passion is in helping students attain their potential.

I have worked with youth and special populations teaching skills focusing on experiential learning, discovering strengths, and empowering individuals. My background includes working with people of all ability levels including everyone from straight-A students taking all AP courses to many with learning differences such as ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and autism.

I realize that all students learn differently and have unique learning preferences. As a result, this site, and the services I offer give students the option to learn by reading, doing, listening, interacting/asking questions and watching videos. I haven’t quite figured out how to integrate the sense of smell or taste into increasing SAT scores yet but I’m open to suggestions.

This site is meant to be a resource for parents and students to help students raise their SAT scores. Although you’ll find tips that deal with all three portions of the SAT, much of the focus is on the math portion as that’s where the majority of students have trouble (and whaddaya know, that’s my specialty).

Shravan,

April and May should be sufficient time to prepare so long as you practice weekly. I focus on SAT’s only but have a colleague that helps with the application process and financial aide as well as helps students decide what are good/realistic schools to apply to. I’ll have her email you.

Regards,
Jason
